Finca Los Gemelos
A beautiful renovated Spanish farmhouse
Finca Los Gemelos, meaning "The Twins", is a lovely, large, old traditional Spanish house with lots of history. The finca once housed two superintendent families that supervised the hillside for Baron Tennent.
The rock terracing that supports the garden wall is said to be Phoenician and the old olive tree across the road is over 500 years old.
The finca has been sympathetically renovated retaining many of the original features - charming shuttered windows and a magnificent vaulted beamed lounge to name but two. The interior is tastefully decorated with quality furnishings that are very much in keeping with the surroundings.
This really is quite a stunning house!

Many original features have been retained
The modern new kitchen is complete with an electric range oven and gas hobs, microwave, large American-style fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, toaster, coffee machine, juicer etc.
Attached to the kitchen is a dining area with a glazed roof ... dine inside at night under the stars and look out onto the floodlit garden.
The spacious lounge and dining room seats over 10. There is a large screen 37" LCD TV, DVD player +IPTV. WiFi Wireless ADSL Internet is also available at Finca Los Gemelos (bring your own laptop/I-pad).
On the ground floor is the large master bedroom (queen size bed) which has a lovely old headboard made from an old reja that came from Malaga - see if you can spot the bullet holes from the Spanish Civil war! The master bedroom has an en-suite shower-room with a walk-in shower, wc & basin. Also on the this floor is a twin bedded room with a bathroom across the hallway which has a bath with a shower over the bath, wc & basin.
On the 1st floor is another spacious bedroom with a double bed & an en suite shower-room with basin & wc. There are two further bedrooms - a twin bedded room and a double bedroom with a 4-poster bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom which has a shower over the bath, wc & basin.
Air-conditioning is also provided in all the bedrooms, the lounge/dining room and the kitchen .. the price of this is included in the tariff.
Siesta in the shade or sunbathe by the pool
The pool is perfect for young children which incorporates a shallow (40 cm deep) pool which flows into the main pool ... both of which can be heated (additional charge). The main terrace & pool at Finca Los Gemelos are situated immediately outside the lounge and are all on the same level. Sun loungers and a parasol are provided for your use - and you can help yourself to the lemons from the trees but don't forget to bring your own G&T!
There is a pretty casita located next to the BBQ
With in excess of 320 days sunshine a year, you are practically guaranteed perfect weather for a BBQ. Have a long leisurely lunch sampling some of the best food and drink the Mediterranean has to offer
Dine outside on those balmy evenings in the Casita where there is a built-in Andalucian style BBQ and seating for 10, the views from here are just spectacular. Enjoy time together sharing a BBQ'ed lunch, iberico pork is particularly good here and ribs in BBQ sauce a particular favourite of mine. Fish is also plentiful and fresh, the fish & sea food counter in the supermarket at Corte Ingles has a fabulous choice. The wines of Spain are fantastic and they like to keep the best ones to themselves, what a better way to spend an evening than to sample different Riojas and Cavas.
If cooking is too much like hard work there are many excellent restaurants in the area to try. The Mirlo Blanco (see our restaurant guide) takes pride in the food it serves and the service is second to none. Recently I enjoyed a whole crab served hot in it's shell followed by their famous house speciality Souffle.
Finca Los Gemelos, the perfect place to spend your summer holiday.
