Alhabero

Alhabero is approached via its own electronically gated driveway, there is garaging for two vehicles and courtyard space for several more.

The interior is thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. Most of the bedrooms have their own private terraces and benefit from air-conditioning or ceiling fans. Alhabero has 3 lounges including a TV room

On entering Alhabero to your left is a spacious lounge which has patio doors leading to the large terrace and pool area, the windows open out to let the sunshine in. To the right of the entrance hallway is a second cosy lounge with breakfast room and the modern kitchen which is extremely well equipped including 2 ovens, extra large hob (stove top) unit and large American style fridge freezer. The kitchen also benefits from it's own dining terrace. There is a separate utility room with second fridge/freezer, washing machine etc. Also on this level is a large double bedroom with a supering bed, ensuite bathroom with a bath and a separate shower, this bedroom is air-conditioned and has a lovely large private terrace.

Down a flight of stairs leads to the TV room with large screen Samsung smart TV, sound bar & a DVD player with a library of over 500 dvds to appeal to all ages. Leading off this room are 3 further bedrooms (1 x double & 2 x twins) and a bathroom ... 2 of these bedrooms have ensuite facilities.

On the first floor is the master double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with separate shower facilities. The 6th bedroom (double) and bathroom is also on this floor. Both these bedroom have their own large south facing terraces.

The shaded terrace overlooks the pool, a lovely area to all sit down & enjoy time together sharing a BBQ'ed lunch. Iberico pork is particularly good here and ribs in BBQ sauce a particular favourite of mine. Fish is also plentiful and fresh, the fish & sea food counter in the supermarket at Corte Ingles has a fabulous choice. The wines of Spain are fantastic and they like to keep the best ones to themselves, what a better way to spend an evening than to sample different Riojas and Cavas.

If cooking is too much like hard work there are many excellent restaurants in the area to try. The Postillion (see our restaurant guide) takes pride in the food it serves and the service is second to none. Recently I enjoyed the prawns wrapped in sole with a saffron sauce

The picturesque Andalucian village of Mijas is just 5 minutes away by car and has many charming shops and restaurants - perfect for that early evening stroll. Inland can be found the 'Real Spain' of breathtaking mountain views and many 'Ventas' - the typical Spanish restaurant.

They call this the Costa del Golf and with nearly 60 golf courses in Andalucia, including more than 30 on the Costa del Sol, it's easy to see why! With year round sun the Costa del Sol is perfect for your golfing vacation; and Mijas is ideally situated for these many championship courses.

Alhabero is also well situated for those seeking a cultural holiday ... the drive to the historic town of Ronda is one not to be missed, and the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada is an interesting 2 hour drive. Cordoba and Sevilla are also both easily accessible with a hire car or by coach.
