Los Espartales is a great villa with many quiet terraces, perfect for alfresco living. Nestled in a valley, the villa has both sea and mountain views.

The location could not be better ... the picturesque white village of Mijas with many charming shops and restaurants is less than 5 minutes drive away and if you can bear to be away from Los Espartales the beaches & nightlife of Fuengirola are only 10 minutes by car.

Rental terms

These rates apply to a maximum of ten guests + an infant in a cot/crib (hire of cot/crib is extra) and includes: pool maintenance, gardener & all linen/towels (including pool towels). The Garden Suite (sleeps 2 additional guests) can be booked for an additional fee. For bookings up to 10 nights the maid service will be on your day of arrival and day of departure only. Bookings for 11 nights or more will also have a mid stay linen/towel change and clean. We don't take a damage deposit, but in addition to the above rates there is a mandatory accidental damage waiver (ADW) fee of £10€12.20 per person, per booking. This is to cover you for any accidental damage that may occur in your property during your holiday, this will cover you up to the value of £150€183.00 per person. A 25% deposit is required at time of booking with the balance payable 10 weeks before occupation.

Outdoor living is a way of life in Spain

There are many outdoor areas at Los Espartales. The top terrace located outside the kitchen has an Andalusian BBQ and a shaded dining area for catering outside. Down a set of steps is a larger terrace with the pool table and outdoor sofa set to sit, relax and take in the view.

The private pool which can be heated is located on the lowest terrace, down approx 45 steps. The pool has a shallow end and Roman style steps. This area enjoys sunshine most of the day and is equipped with sun-beds, tables, an outdoor sofa set, a parasol and even a fridge for your cold drinks.

Comfortably furnished and air conditioned

The main entrance is on the same level as the comfortably furnished lounge which has IPTV (TV via the Internet), DVD player and a bluetooth wireless speaker. The property also benefits from Wi-Fi ADSL Internet.

Leading from the lounge up a few steps is the dining room and well equipped kitchen - electric oven, gas hobs (stove tops), dishwasher, microwave, large fridge/freezer, juicer, coffee machine, toaster etc. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine, iron & board.

One of the double bedded rooms with en-suite shower-room is also on this level.

Downstairs is a further 4 bedrooms.

The main accommodation is down a flight of stairs from the lounge. Here you will find a small bedroom with bunk beds and a double bedroom which share a walk-in shower room with wc & basin. Down a few more steps is a twin bedded room which has an ensuite shower-room with wc and basin. Next to this bedroom is the master bedroom with a king size bed, a dressing area and direct access to the gardens ... this bedroom has a separate bathroom with a bath, wc and basin.

Garden Suite

Situated close to the main house, the Garden Suite has a king size double bed; there is an en-suite shower-room with walk in shower, wc and basin.The Garden Suite also has it's own tv monitor & Sony PlayStation 2 for playing games or watching DVDs (please bring your own games & favourite films). Located just outside the studio is the large terrace with an outdoor sofa set and pool table.

Explore the beauty of the Costa del Sol

Espartales is only minutes away from Mijas, one of Spain's most celebrated Pueblos Blancos (White Villages). Here, where you will find traditional craft shops, quaint cobbled streets and maybe even the occasional donkey.

Mijas is a wonderful place to wander around, with its narrow streets opening onto bustling plazas offering a choice of numerous restaurants and tapas bars all year around. This gives you plenty of places to sample Spanish culinary delights. The Alarcon in the barrio district is one of my favourites and one of the best places to try different raciones (see our restaurant guide). We often order several different dishes and then share. We often order pil oil (spicy garlic prawns) and berenjenas con miel (aubergines with honey) - it's delicious!

Just a 10 minutes away are the long sandy beaches of Fungirola scattered with beach bars & restaurants for you to choose from (see our beach guide). Fungirola also has a pretty harbour with many more restaurants and bars to choose from. I love to people watch here while enjoying a long lunch.
