Quality and comfortably furnished
Casa Los Leones is a delightful home, tastefully decorated with quality furnishings. The bright & airy lounge overlooks the pool area & has a 42" LCD TV, SKY satellite (free to view - BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Ch 4, Ch 5, Sky News etc) & a Sony Playstation/DVD player. Next to the open plan lounge is a dining area with seating for 10. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with granite worktops, ceramic hobs (stove top), oven, microwave, coffee machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer etc.
The accommodation comprises of double bedroom with a 4-poster bed & an ensuite shower room with wc & basin. On the next floor are 2 twin bedded rooms which each has an ensuite bathroom with shower over the bath, wc & basin. The master bedroom is also on this level & has an ensuite shower room with wc & basin; this bedroom also has a private south facing terrace with sea views. All the bedrooms are fully air conditioned.
To the rear of the house is an air-conditioned self contained apartment (photos on page 2) that sleeps 2 guests & comprises of a bedroom with a double bed with an en-suite walk-in shower room with wc & basin. There is a spacious bright modern lounge/kitchen diner with an electric hob (stove top), microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle etc. In the lounge area is a sofa, tv with SKY satellite (free to view - BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Ch 4, Ch 5, Sky News etc). If required the apartment is an additional £200 pw. If you book the main house the apartment will NOT be rented to anyone else.
Siesta in the shade or sunbathe by the pool
Outside living is very much a part of the lifestyle in Spain - situated under a covered terrace that overlooks the pool is a relaxing area with a comfortable sofa & chairs. The pool has Roman type steps which makes it perfect for children. There are sunbeds & a fabulous "Bali" day bed ... I'm sure this will be one of your favourite places to whileaway the day with a book & a glass of wine in hand.
Next to the kitchen is a terrace with a dining area and a superb built-in Andalucian style bbq (photos on page 2) ... perfect for a long leisurely lunch sampling all that the Mediterranean has to offer. This is where you would find me cooking pinchitos (kebabs) whilst sipping a nice cold San Miguel.
Ideally situated to cater for all guests interests
There is something for everyone in this area - the picturesque Andalucian village of Mijas has many charming shops and restaurants, perfect for an early evening stroll. Inland can be found the 'Real Spain' of breathtaking mountain views and many 'Ventas' - the typical Spanish restaurant. One of our favourites, Venta Los Morenos, is just 15 minutes by car on the Alhaurin El Grande road. It's great for Sunday lunch - very cheap, very Spanish, very noisy - why not give it a try! Lively Fuengirola is just 10 minutes away (8 km) and boasts many fine restaurants, water sports, beaches, a marina and an aquapark. Marbella with its marina and stylish shops is 20 minutes by car.
Los Leones is also well situated for those seeking a cultural holiday ... the drive to the historic town of Ronda is one not to be missed, and the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada is an interesting 2 hour drive. Cordoba and Sevilla are also both easily accessible with a hire car or by coach.
