Elegantly furnished with a very Spanish feel
The accommodation at Los Arcos is richly decorated in a traditional Spanish theme. On entering Los Arcos the impressive hallway leads to the lounge which has a 42" Flat Screen TV, SKY satellite (limited channels, free to view pack: BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, ITV2, Ch4, SKY news etc), DVD player & a BOSE sound system. Also on this level is the dining room & kitchen which is equipped with electric oven & hobs (stove tops), fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, washing machine & dryer etc. Leading from the dining room a sliding door leads to a romantic patio with flowers and plants, one of the many secluded areas at Los Arcos to relax and enjoy.
The air-conditioned master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom which has a walk-in type shower, basin & wc. Access to one of the twin bedrooms (which is ideal for 2 children) is via an external door or through the master bedroom/bathroom ... this twin bedroom also has AC.
There is a large covered terrace (newly renovated) with ceiling fans, with spectacular views over the Mediterranean and the Mijas mountains ... at night, thousands of flickering lights of Fuengirola illuminate the skies of Los Arcos.
And for those of you that must stay 'connected' (and I'm unfortunately one of them!) Los Arcos also features a WiFi wireless internet connection (must bring your own laptop, no extra costs involved).
From the hallway, down a flight of stairs leads to 2 spacious air-conditioned bedrooms ... one of which has a double bed & the other 2 x single beds. Both these bedrooms share a bathroom with a walk-in type shower, wc & basin. There is direct access from these bedrooms to the garden & pool area which is on the same level.
In the garden is an air-conditioned Casita (small house) where the 5th bedroom is located, this has 2 x single beds & an ensuite walk-in shower-room with wc & basin. The Casita is an ideal place for teenagers or a couple who want to be a little away from the main party!
The pool is private & not overlooked
The pool & garden area is below the terrace & has ample sun loungers & garden furniture. There is also a small poolside Casita which has comfortable seating in the shade, a shower and changing room.
Dine outside on those balmy evenings either on the patio overlooking the pool where there is a built-in BBQ or on the very private shaded terrace witch has views across the countryside towards the Mediterranean. Just below here there are the lovely mature gardens which have some wonderful old trees ... I'm sure this will be one of your favourite places to whileaway the day.
Only a few minutes stroll into the heart of Mijas Village
Although Los Arcos is situated within the city limits of the Old Town of Mijas, it is an oasis of tranquillity, surrounded by mature gardens and a green belt of exotic trees. It only takes a few minutes to walk to the historic centre of Mijas Village with all its amenities ... imagine, in the morning taking a short stroll to the bakery for fresh bread, pick up your daily newspaper, and a few minutes later you find yourself having breakfast on the sunny terrace of Los Arcos!
Inland can be found the 'Real Spain' of breathtaking mountain views and many 'Ventas' - the typical Spanish restaurant. One of our favourites, Venta Los Morenos, is just 10 minutes by car on the Alhaurin El Grande road. It's great for Sunday lunch - very cheap, very Spanish, very noisy - why not give it a try!
Down the hill, only 10 minutes away are the long sandy beaches of Fuengirola ... with its delightful little marina and palm fringed promenade, it's a lovely location to enjoy a leisurely walk or a coffee overlooking the yachts. 'Lew Hoads' famous tennis club and restaurant is also only 5 minutes away by car.
Whether you're looking for a beach and action holiday for the kids or a lazy getaway break, the Costa del Sol has something for everyone.
