It only takes a few minutes to walk to the historic centre of Mijas Village with all its amenities ... imagine, in the morning taking a short stroll to the bakery for fresh bread, pick up your daily newspaper, and a few minutes later you find yourself having breakfast on the patio of La Casa de la Iglesia!
Many original features have been retained in this charming property
LA CASA DE LA IGLESIA, offers a very friendly and cosy environment which makes you feel right at home. This former farm house was recently renovated to provide modern facilities yet retain most of it's original features.
On the ground floor is a lovely lounge with an open log fire for cool winter evenings, here you will find the TV with SKY satellite (free to view) & a DVD player; next to the lounge is the dining room with a beautiful traditional wooden ceiling. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hobs, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, coffee maker etc.
One of the main features of Casa Iglesia is the pretty central patio from where you can see and hear the hermitage’s bell and you can enjoy the orange blossom or the quiet sound of falling water. Breakfast is taken here; and you can also enjoy an evening drink, inviting conversation or a quiet read.
On the 1st floor are two bedrooms - one with a double bed & the other with 2 x single beds. Each bedroom has it's own en suite walk-in shower with wc & basin. These bedrooms are air-conditioned (with heating in the winter) & have a small TV (Spanish).
The 3rd 'master' suite occupies the top floor. This beautiful bright and airy bedroom is air conditioned, has twin beds, an en suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi style bath, walk-in shower, wc & basin. This room benifits from 2 private terraces - one overlooks the narrow road at the front of Casa Iglesia & the other faces south with great views across the rooftops towards the village.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ISN'T A POOL AT LA CASA DE LA IGLESIA - THE BEACH THOUGH IS JUST 10 MINUTES BY CAR
About Mijas
The enchanting village of Mijas is situated in the lowlands of the Sierra de Mijas mountain range and is surrounded by pine forest. The village nestles in the mountainside at 428 meters above sea level and has a population of 7,500. The nearest main town is the Spanish sea-side resort Fuengirola (8km), Malaga airport is 25 mins by car. Mijas has managed to retain much of its "white village" charm, with cobbled, narrow winding streets, dazzling whitewashed walls and breathtaking views.
For more detailed information on Mijas & the surrounding area see our "About Mijas" page.
Ideally situated to cater for all guests interests

The restaurant/bar Alarcon is one of the best tapas bars in Mijas Pueblo & is located less than 100 meters from Casa Iglesia ... a popular haunt with many of the locals.
Venture just a little way inland to uncover the delights of the 'Real Spain' with breathtaking mountain views, unspoilt white villages nestled in rolling mountains and many 'Ventas' - the typical Spanish restaurant. One of my favourites is Venta Morenos, just 10 minutes by car on the Coin road. It's great for Sunday lunch - very cheap, very Spanish, very noisy - why not give it a try! ... see my restaurant guide.
Lively Fuengirola is just 10 minutes away (8 km) and boasts many fine restaurants, water sports, beaches, a marina and an aquapark. Marbella with its marina and stylish shops is 20 minutes by car.
La Casa de la Iglesia is also well situated for those seeking a cultural holiday ... the drive to the historic town of Ronda is one not to be missed, and the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada is an interesting 2 hour drive. Cordoba and Sevilla are also both easily accessible with a hire car or by coach.
