Beautifully furnished to a high standard
On entering the antique front door the aesthetic style and quality of this villa is evident. There is extensive use of polished marble for floors and the sweeping staircase which is sunlit by the windows of the high round tower from which the house takes it name. Marble also features in the beautiful bathrooms.
Lounges. The main lounge is sunny and bright with tasteful, quality furnishing and large sofas. The TV lounge (with SKY free to view - BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Ch4, Ch5, Sky news etc) is just off the kitchen with comfortable seating close to refreshments and handy for keeping an eye on the younger children whilst preparing meals.
Dining room. The elegant open plan dining room is furnished with a custom made travertine marble table and is the perfect place to share a meal with friends whilst enjoying the views across the Andalucian hills to the Mediterranean Sea.
Kitchen: The well equipped kitchen has granite work tops, ceramic hobs (stove tops), electric oven, fridge/freezer, mini moka coffee maker, large toaster etc. There is also a secondary breakfast dining kitchen which is situated adjacent to the main kitchen that has a small refrigerator, hob, microwave toaster etc.
There is an adsl WiFi wireless Internet connection (please bring your own laptop), and parking for 4-5 vehicles with entry to the property via electric security gates. The entire property is fenced / walled, and is not overlooked so it is perfect for those requiring peace, privacy and security whilst offering high levels of comfort and all modern conveniences.
There are two master suites - the first is located on the lowest level, it is air conditioned and has a king size bed and a wonderful ensuite bathroom with twin basins, wc, walk-in shower and a large free formed marble bath which I'm sure you will have trouble prising yourself out of!
The second master suite is located on the 1st floor - this air-conditioned bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a with shower over the bath, wc & basin. There is a large south facing with fabulous views of the Andalucian countryside with the Mediterranean in the far distance. Two more bedrooms are on this floor, both of which are air conditioned - a family suite and the 'Blue room'. The family suite comprises of a bedroom with a king size bed and a smaller bedroom with generous sized bunk beds suitable for children ... this room will also accommodate a cot for an infant. These two rooms share their own bathroom with shower over the bath, wc & basin. The 'Blue room' has a king size bed and an ensuite with a walk-in shower, wc & basin. Both these rooms also have a south facing terrace.
The 6th bedroom is located on the ground floor, this room is also air conditioned and has twin beds and has a separate bathroom with wc and basin.
The home cinema room is situated on the naturally cool lower floor and has a chaise longue and a large L shaped sofa for extra comfort whilst viewing one of the large selection of DVD's. The grand piano is also situated on this floor.
Siesta in the shade or sunbathe by the pool
The numerous outdoor terraces provide various different seating areas for every occasion ... a quiet space with a book, siestas, sipping sundowners, talking or dining with friends and family. Complete with sun or shade and lovely views. The main outdoor dining table seats 12 and overlooks the rolling hills of the Andalucian countryside but there are plenty other dining areas to choose from!
With a fantastic infinity pool, American style pool table, air-hockey, outdoor chess, boules, table tennis, fitness equipment and a fabulous home cinema all in situ for your entertainment ... it will be difficult to find the time or inclination to leave Torre Redonda and explore the pretty surrounding area of Mijas.
Enjoy the great cuisine of Spain
With in excess of 320 days sunshine a year, you are practically guaranteed perfect weather for a BBQ. Have a long leisurely lunch sampling some of the best food and drink the Mediterranean has to offer.
The Bali House is situated in a quiet corner of the garden, a lovely area to all sit down & enjoy time together sharing a BBQ'ed lunch. Iberico pork is particularly good here and ribs in BBQ sauce a particular favourite of mine. Fish is also plentiful and fresh, the fish & sea food counter in the supermarket at Corte Ingles has a fabulous choice. The wines of Spain are fantastic and they like to keep the best ones to themselves, what a better way to spend an evening than to sample different Riojas and Cavas.
If cooking is too much like hard work there are many excellent restaurants in the area to try. The Postillion (see our restaurant guide) takes pride in the food it serves and the service is second to none. Recently I enjoyed the prawns wrapped in sole with a saffron sauce.
