Hacienda San Jose is located in the Andalucian countryside in a peaceful, tranquil location yet only 2 minutes from La Cala Golf Resort. The seaside family resort of La Cala de Mijas is just 10 mins by car. The lovely beach at La Cala is ideal for children and adults alike ... there are several chiringitos (beach bars), and many restaurants in the village to choose from.
San Jose is perfect for large family gatherings & multi-family holidays. We also accept reservations for small weddings & celebrations. There is though an additional charge for using San Jose as a wedding/celebration venue.
Elegantly and tastefully furnished
In the first section of the main house the accommodation comprises of 3 bedrooms all with en-suites bathrooms and an air-conditioned TV room with a 42 inch flat screen TV & SKY package (including movies). The downstairs bedroom is decorated in silver and black, has a double bed, ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath, wc & basin and French doors opening onto the gardens. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath, wc & basin and a day bed in the window. Also, here is the air-conditioned master suite with a Spanish king size bed, flat screen TV with full package (including movies), dressing area, private outdoor terrace overlooking the gardens and pool, ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath as well as a walk-in steam shower and twin sinks. The master suite also has a lounge area with sofas and a spiral staircase leading up to your own private mirador (turret) giving the most amazing 360 degree views.
The large modern kitchen is fully equipped with two sinks, kitchen table, flat screen TV with SKY package (including movies), electric oven & 5 x gas hobs (stove tops), microwave, 2 dishwashers, coffee maker etc. There is a walk-in fridge and two chest freezers and separate laundry room with a top loading washer and two dryers. Outside the kitchen is a covered terrace with a table & chairs - perfect for breakfast al-fresco; also there is a a comfy seating area overlooking the lawn & garden.
Next to the kitchen is the stunning dining room with vaulted ceilings & views of the pool. Leading from the dining room you will enter a hallway; to the left is the library, snug, reception area and the formal sitting room elegantly and tastefully furnished. To the right down a corridor are the two twin bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms complete with a shower over the bath, wc and basin. Down a flight of stairs you will find the charming courtyard surrounded by the 5 junior suites. All have been tastefully and individually decorated, with ample seating inside and each with it's own private terrace ... all have wonderful views of the Mijas mountains. All the rooms have ensuite bathrooms with a bath as well as a walk-in shower, double washbasins, heated towel rails, hair-dryer, TV (Spanish + Astra satellite), mini fridge & personal safe.
PLEASE NOTE: Hacienda San Jose doesn't have air conditioning ... being of traditional construction all the bedrooms & public rooms have high vaulted ceilings & thick walls ... the rooms tend to be cool in the summer & warm in the winter. The bedrooms all have fans but should you find the need for air-conditioning we can arrange for the hire of portable AC units (pricing on request) that can be used in some of the bedrooms.

The magnificent large pool (approx. 15m x 7m) has gentle Roman style steps in the shallow end with a rail to ease access in and out of the pool. Surrounding the pool are extensive gardens with sun beds and parasols to laze the day away in comfort.
Next to the pool is a chiringuito style outside dining area, with a built-in BBQ, pizza oven, fridge & sink ... and with in excess of 320 days sunshine a year, you are practically guaranteed perfect weather for a BBQ. Have a long leisurely lunch sampling some of the best food and drink the Mediterranean has to offer. Iberico pork is particularly good here and ribs in BBQ sauce a particular favourite of mine. Fish is also plentiful and fresh, the fish & sea food counter in the supermarket at Corte Ingles has a fabulous choice. The wines of Spain are fantastic and they like to keep the best ones to themselves, what a better way to spend an evening than to sample different Riojas and Cavas.
Hacienda San Jose lies in the privacy of its own extensive gardens including an olive grove and orchard. In fact the grape vines grown in the orchard are used to make wine at the Hacienda and in the Bodega (wine cellar) you will find the bottles of wine laid down from previous years.
Hacienda San Jose Tennis Court
Situated at the front of the house is the private tennis court for use by the occupants of the Hacienda (Please note: the tennis court is shared with a neighbour but very very rarely used by them).
Hacienda San Jose is only a few minutes away from La Cala Golf Resort & Spa, renowned tennis clubs, horse riding centers and the Costa del Sol race course.
From traditional Spanish Ventas in small picturesque white villages to Michelin star restaurants in the jet set Puerto Banus you can find it all in Andalucía.
There are many first rate restaurant in the area ... enjoy a relaxing day on the beach at Elviria followed by an excellent meal at the Beach House restaurant or dine at home without any hassle by using our recommended chef Mike Taylor of Taylor Made Catering.
